M1895 Chilean Mauser Sporterized - 5 Round Bolt Action 7mm Mauser by Loewe Berlin - Made In Germany. The Mauser Model 1895 adopted as Fusil Mauser Chileno Mo 1895 by Chilean forces, is a bolt operated magazine fed rifle using the 7×57mm Mauser cartridge. Hi everyone, I just signed up to ask some questions that I haven't been able to find any coherent or valuable answers, on the M1895 Chilean Mauser. Or I just need more reiterating on them. Anyway, I've been looking into getting a Chilean Mauser recently, (along with possibly a M1917 American Enfield,) and I was first wondering what were the years that Mauser and Chile themselves, made them?

Our Assessment: This Chilean Mauser Model 1895 Rifle was made in Germany before Loewe and Company formed DWM, Deutsche Waffen-Und Munitionsfabriken. Model 1895’s made by Loewe are antiques; those made by DWM may not be as many were made by DWM after 1898. This one has matching part numbers and it looks Great. The rifle is over 130 years old and still has a bore that can so serious work out at the range. This Model 1895 has great markings on the metal & wood that are clear & deep. It will add to your Military collection.

Sunday morning I went to the local big box store (Gander Mountain) adjacent to the local shopping mall. Went with the intention of purchasing a bottle of M-Pro7 Rifle Cleaner.Got the cleaner and then wondered over to the used rifle section. This store usually has at least a dozen short mauser's on hand at any given time. One or two MN 91/30's. Had an SKSon the rack. They also had a long mauser rifle. Asked the clerk to see it and it turned out to be a Mauser Chileno Modelo 1895, Manufactora Loewe Berlin.
Serial # F 48XX. Very nice condition. Stock looks great. Did not stick to my hands when handling. Solid bolt. All matching #'s. No cleaning rod.
Bore looks a bit dark but the lands and grooves looks pretty good. Appears to have been well cared for other than not having a brush or patch put down the
bore in some time. Crest visible on top of the receiver. Cartouche visible on the left side of the stock. Crossed pick-axes on the bolt. Cross in a circle x2 visible on the magazine floor plate
Clerk did not know the history. Asking price was $300 but they had a sale going on and dropped the price to $270.
Dropped $60 dollars and told them to hold it for me.
Never purchased anything from them before as I have always been a bit put off by their high prices. First time I had ever seen or handled one of these rifles.
Will post a few pictures once I get it home.
